Genetic Analyzer/16-Capillary Sequencer (Hitachi/Applied Biosystems)

The Central Scientific Laboratory of the Medical University of Lodz is equipped with a Genetic Analyzer/16-Capillary Array.

We offer services in the area of:

  • sequencing of bacterial genomes (plasmid DNA),
  • amplicon sequencing,
  • genotyping of DNA fragments,
  • analysis of DNA methylation profile in cells,
  • MLPA analysis (Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification).

Sequence analysis is based on the cyclic chain termination method using reagents from Applied Biosystems (ABI Prism Big Dye terminator Cycle Sequencing Kit). The service includes:

  • sequencing PCR using primers provided by the ordering person,
  • purification after sequencing,
  • capillary electrophoresis of sequencing reaction products.

The results are presented in the form of a .ab1 document – opened by Sequence Scanner or Chromas softwares.

It is also possible to carry out a comprehensive analysis including:

  • DNA/RNA isolation,
  • primers design,
  • optimization of the PCR reaction,
  • amplification of DNA/cDNA fragments for sequencing,
  • purification of the PCR product,
  • sequencing reaction (as above),
  • results analysis.
